Microsoft did NOT steal ideas from Apple for Windows XP/Vista!!!!

All right, I heard that there is some debate that Microsoft stole ideas from Apple about Instant Search and Sidebar and some other crap, but hey...THOSE ARE LIES!

Now, it all goes back to when Windows 2000 beta came out. There were cool features on it, for example the redesigned taskbar, blah blah blah. But hey, you were able to search on it! That was one of the very first operating systems that had that. Of course, I must agree that Microsoft stole that from Apple's Sherlock, but they developed on it. They made the search a lot faster than Apple's Sherlock 2. In XP, you had an option of indexing your files. Instead of searching your 250 gig hard disk (or less :P), you can only search one or two REALLY hidden text files that contain the info of ALL of your files. After that, bam! Apple stole that idea and created their "spotlight" which was first released in Mac OS 10.4.

About the gadgets.....no. It looks like both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates stole that idea from Yahoo, which stole from Google. Google first came up with the sidebar, then Yahoo (from Word Of Mouth of Google) designed Yahoo Widgets, and then came the Dashboard and Vista Sidebar almost simultaneously.

The UI makes absolutely no difference to the performance. Even though Vista looks cool with its glass appearance, and Leopard looks sleek for its mix of metal and plastic, Leopard is slower and a little bit worse than Vista. For me, an XP user, I am still glad that I did not upgrade to Vista...yet.
